New Tank For The 45 Flathead

Started on the new tank for the 45 today. After laying out the shape I wanted on the tank I bent up the rod to match the outline. Tapered the ends down to flow into the tank and then cleaned and sanded the metal prior to welding. Got the first tack welds done to make sure I liked it before finishing the welding.

New Wood Mallet

There is no leaving with the snow right now, so I figure I'm going to do something productive. The old wood mallet was getting a little worse for wear, and it seems like a good time to make a new one. Grabbed a piece of locust that I've been saving and chucked it up on the lathe. Bout an hour later and a little oil from the kitchen and it's almost done. Just have to clean up the ends a bit is all.
